Well woman and Preventative Examinations

Well woman examinations are the core of female preventative medicine.  They provide a venue for identifying gynecologic abnormalities and implementing preventative strategies.  The examination encompasses a comprehensive evaluation of basic organ systems with an emphasis on gynecologic function.  Family planning is discussed extensively with women of reproductive age.  Other preventative strategies focus on recommended screening exams at age appropriate intervals including mammography, colonoscopy, bone density testing.

Chronic Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis Management

Chronic pelvic pain is an entity that impairs many women.  The workup for chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis is crucial to implementing treatment plans to alleviate the source of discomfort.  A multidisciplinary approach is used to reach the correct diagnosis and begin the road to recovery.

Menopause and Hormone Replacement Therapy

Menopause is milestone in a woman’s life that involves significant transition.  Multiple signs and symptoms to a greater or lesser extent are associated with this state.  Individualized treatment plans are initiated with the goal of improving quality of life during this challenging period.

Excessive Menstrual Bleeding and Management

Excessive menstrual bleeding is a common complaint among reproductive age women.  There are multiple disorders that are responsible for menstrual irregularity.  A diagnostic approach that includes radiographic studies, hormonal evaluation, and possible endometrial evaluation is essential to identifying the disorder.  Based on the workup, an effective treatment plan is implemented to alleviate the menstrual abnormality.
